Ali Baba's Wife Suspended By Heritage Bank, Read His Reaction

On Tuesday, March 7, 2017, news broke that Heritage Bank of Nigeria suspended wife of popular Nigerian comedian Ali Baba who as at the time of her alleged suspension was one of the Executive Directors of the bank, Mary Akpobome.

Mary was allegedly suspended indefinitely to go and recover loans she signed off on.
It was alleged that Mrs. Akpobome and powerful bank management abused their positions and engaged in fraud and this led to her and an unnamed account officer to clear their desk before she left the bank premises.
When the news of her rumoured suspension got to her husband, the comedian took to his Instagram page to reply critics and fans.
He wrote:
“Thank you to all who showed concern about the story concerning my wife. Let’s wait to hear the Banks position"
Meanwhile, an Abuja based company had petitioned the Federal High Court and the Central Bank of Nigeria to liquidate Heritage Bank on the account of its inability to meet its customers’ demands.
Another company, Geonel Integrated Services Limited, a security services company, claimed it has over N1.8billion and another $85,859 trapped in various Heritage Bank accounts.
