western fashion crackdown: North Korea President bans jeans, piercing and ponytails

North Korea citizens have now been banned from wearing jean, ponytails and piercing of any part of the body, while earrings are not banned. All ‘western’ fashion has all been banned in pursuit of the latest crackdown in western culture ahead of its annual workers conference.
According to Asian press, the length of skirts, shapes of shoes and hairstyle are also checked.
A Japanese journalist who works with citizen reporter inside North Korea, Ishimaru Jiro , asserted that a “ growing  number of north Korea people are infatuated with western culture” . Hence, the crackdown will continue until the end of the upcoming gathering (the 7th congress of workers’ party)
Kim Jong-un launches the crackdown focusing on sites close to China border where citizens have easier access to information , and cultural trends from the outside world.
The ban was uncovered by citizen journalists at Rimjin-gang, a North Korean news website supported by AsiaPress.
The regime strongly opposes Western culture in any form and has been known to send those guilty of what King anti-socialist" behaviour to its notorious labour camps.
Moreover, inspection unit supposedly consisting of teenagers dedicated to leader Kim Jong-un, have been said to be  prowling the streets for those who dare to break the dress code and stipulated haircut for the male. All male must adopt Spartan socialist hairstyle, no longer than 3inches.

Also the North Korean Youth Union (NKYU) made up of members who sign up once they reach the age of 15, also hunt for unmarried women doing business in marketplaces, as this is also forbidden.
Members of this Union are sworn to prevent "the corruption of public morals."
