  SHE LOVED HER BESTIES’S HUBBY

 

Toyosi and Moduroti’s friendship dates back to childhood days. Both had been bosom friends for ages; they shared things and intimate secrets, wear the same collections and accessories, attended same university, studied same course and both ended up as radio presenters for Blossom Rhythm Fm in Lagos.

 

 

Talking about slim, tall, elegant, fair skinned young lady with an hour glass shape – that’s best befitting Toyosi. Lest I forget, she is very outspoken, most sorted after by men and a total party freak. Dark skinned, tall, cool headed, independent and a bit chubby talking about MO! While toyosi is a free bird, outspoken and does thing on impulse, Mo has always been the reserved, level headed one.

It all started at Eko shopping mall where Mo spotted the guy; tall, sleek, graceful and muscular with the kind of face girls tripped on. Mo tapped Toyo to look at her catch and both glared at him, mouth wide opened and both totally lost in admiration. Both were unaware of his presence, till he was a breath away from them. He smiled gracefully at them and after an awkward moment, the trio exchanged a proper conversation and got to know each other. However, throughout the chat the new guy, Kole got his eyes on toyosi and her alone. Though Mo was the secret admirer who discovered Kole, fate was wicked enough to keep her out of the love circle.

After some dinners and surprise dates, Toyo and Kole became an item, every minute and seconds seems to be all about them. However, Mo who had vowed to remain single after her breakup with Maye her first lover  got very jealous as Kole pull up different gifts and surprises for Toyosi. Mo secretly loves Kole and wanted what her friend had. Toyosi seems oblivious to all these and being the party whack that she is, party all night long and hangout with every guy that asked. In a nutshell, Toyosi couldn’t keep on the perfect girlfriend act for long, so Mo had to do the covering up at work and with Kole. However, Kole being the commitment kind of guy loves Toyosi deeply but couldn’t help but notice something amiss.

While Toyosi lived her life in her promiscuous way, she still claims to love Kole. And it came to a time Mo feels like telling Kole about her friends’ way of life, but she refrained; valued friendship over anything else. These she had in mind until one Friday night when Mo was to host a late night show on radio, resulting in her coming home late. After the programme and the drive home , she wanted nothing but a good night sleep. Switching on the light of the living room, she saw bottles, wasted people, clothes, keys, undies and shoes all over the place. And she wondered what the party was for.... She walked undecidedly to the room, stopped a moment when she heard sounds like moaning and rumbling , she took a little peep through the bedroom door left ajar and what graced her eyes made her whimper. She rushed out, grabbed her key and drove off...

A fight broke out the next morning; the sweet friendship turned sour and took a wrong drift. Even friends and colleagues noticed the bitter steers the two direct at one another, and couldn’t help but wonder what could have caused the strong enmity.

It was so surprising that some six month after, news of Mo and Kole’s engagement broke out and became a trending gist on social media. Lot of hateful words, beef and sarcasm were sent to the duo, as toyosi and friends took to their instagram pages to tag Mo a ‘Husband snatcher’.   

  And it was a year later that words of what had transpired between the two friends got out. And that is, Toyosi had been seen ‘straffling’ Mo’s ex that night a year ago. And Kole coincidentally ended the relationship because their blood group were both AS, and he couldn’t risk having sickle cell children.

Mo had wanted a home, kids and a loving husband, Toyosi cherished glamour and fun. And both got what they wanted, yet, I don’t see reason why people would still blame Mo for seeing opportunity and grabbing it!

I just wonder what MO DID WRONG!!!
